AI Knowledge Catalog
Fleet knowledge is a document, dataset, or index stored in a registry-backed repo. It uses the same deploy and attach path as a model. The artifact role is different: knowledge is what a service retrieves, and a model is the weights it runs.
The short map is Models and knowledge. Fields are on Knowledge fields.
A Knowledge object and a Model may share a name. They are separate lists.
When to use it
Use kind: Knowledge when the Edgelet node should hold a document bundle from a registry. The registry row must exist. remote and local are valid aliases.
What deploy does
potctl deploy -f knowledge.yaml -n my-ecn
Deploy upserts by metadata.name. The same name updates the repo, revision, files, format, or registry reference. Omit spec.uuid.
apiVersion: datasance.com/v3
kind: Knowledge
metadata:
name: product-docs
namespace: my-ecn
spec:
repo: org/product-docs
registry: remote
format: jsonl
How a microservice uses it
Attach the knowledge object to the Edgelet node first. Then set spec.knowledge on the microservice. The field shape is on Microservice fields.
apiVersion: datasance.com/v3
kind: Microservice
metadata:
name: line-monitor/reader
spec:
knowledge:
items:
- name: product-docs
A knowledge-only change can use deploy -f --patch-knowledge. It can be combined with --patch-model on a microservice-only file. See Microservices.
CLI
potctl get knowledge -n my-ecn
potctl describe knowledge product-docs -n my-ecn
potctl attach knowledge product-docs edge-01 -n my-ecn
potctl detach knowledge product-docs edge-01 -n my-ecn
potctl delete knowledge product-docs -n my-ecn
describe knowledge includes status.linkedAgents. attach knowledge and detach knowledge take the knowledge name and Edgelet node names. On the node, describe agent shows knowledgeStatus, activeKnowledge, and knowledgeLastUpdate. activeKnowledge is a managed count.
Edgelet-local knowledge
On-node knowledge files use edgelet deploy. That path has no Controller catalog row and no attach knowledge. See Knowledge.
Console
Config → AI Knowledge Catalog lists rows, edits YAML, and attaches nodes. See Catalog and templates.
